Ladakh is often called ‘Little Tibet’ and laying north of the main mountain chain it receives little rainfall. The scenery is stark and dramatic – deep gorges, alluvial fans, contorted strata, and large Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. Flat-topped mud-brick houses in oasis-like villages, snow-capped mountains and grand distances.
Our trip covers the sights sounds and ancient monasteries of Leh, a trip to beautiful and expansive Nubra Valley across the Gardang La (the highest motorable road in the world at over 18,300 feet) and to the remote landscape and serene landscape of Pangong Tso – the vivid colours of the lake really have to be seen to be believed.
