Ian Preece - the on-location ace Photographer

Ian Preece is Hassium Holidays’s signature photographer. Ian’s interest in photography started with his first carrier as geophysicist, he purchased his first film camera to take photos of the many places he travelled. Following a series of adventures in India, Nepal and the Himalayas Ian started working as a professional photographer in 2009 leading to a number of exhibitions around the UK, including the Telegraph Adventure Travel Show, and accreditation by the Royal Photographic Society, United Kingdom. He has images in several private galleries and was interviewed by BBC Radio for his solo exhibition, “Images of India”.

His experiences of capturing images in the Himalayas, Ian the became the founder and principal guide running an on-location photographic workshops for the Hindustan Trekking Company in 2012 in the Himalayan Mountains. More recently, Ian returned to his second home in New Zealand to set up Seascape Photographic Adventures offering photographic workshops on-location in the Coromandel Peninsula, one of New Zealand’s most beautiful places.

Working with Hassium holidays, Ian has custom designed a series of on-location photographic workshops in some of India’s most beautiful and photogenic locations offering a diverse range of cultural and natural subjects.

Ian has a particular approach to making his workshops successful and say’s “Our focus is very much on learning in the field with hands on experience at a premium. We only work with small groups up to a maximum of four to make sure our clients get the best from their session”.

A insight of Ian’s career:

• Started as a professional photographer in 2009
• Accredited by the Royal Photographic Society in 2012.
• Ran regular solo exhibitions in England and Scotland and more recently New Zealand and have images on display
in a number of private galleries. I have also sold a number of corporate commissions.
• Launched hands-on photography workshops in the Himalayas with the Hindustan Trekking Company.
• Interviewed by BBC Radio for one of my exhibitions, Images of India, in 2014.
• Launched Seascape Photographic Workshops based in Kuaotunu in 2014.
• Exhibited at the prestigious New Zealand Art Show in Wellington in 2016
• Planning further solo workshops for 2016 - 17 including a rare opportunity to display at Zealandia, New Zealand.
