In Karnataka, besides Bangalore, you will also get to experience the colossal palaces of Mysore, the hill station at Ooty, and more. The road trips between these diverse places ought to be the most memorable and scenic things you’ve ever seen.

 

This is a wonderful tour across Karnataka covering the essence of the state capital of Bangalore, the heritage cities of Mysore and Hassan, and the scenic and picturesque Ooty and follow the wilderness at Nagarhole. A multi-cultural tour to one of India popular South India destinations.

Day 00 : Departure from UK

Departure from UK to begin your holiday experience

Day 01 : Arrive Bangalore

On arrival at the Bangalore airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you to your hotel.

 

Later, time permitting, you may proceed for a short orientation tour of Bangalore.

 

You will visit the Bangalore fort, which was built in 1761. The fort was earlier built in mud in 1537, however Haider Ali, the sultan of Mysore, replaced it with a stone fort in 1761. The fort’s ambience will give you the calmness, that one would not believe, one can still find an escape from the city’s hustles. You will also visit Tipu Sultans summer palace. The architecture of the palace is a mixture of Hindu and Islamic styles, which makes it very unique.

Day 02 : Bangalore - Mysore

On this day, you will start your journey to Mysore, the City of Palaces. It is located at the base of Chamundi Hills and is spread across 50 Square miles of land. It is very well known for its art and architecture and the natural beauty around it. You’re free to explore the area on your own for the rest of the day. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03 : Mysore

After breakfast, you will begin the day with a sightseeing tour of the city. You will visit the Chamundeshwari Temple, located on top of the Chamunda hills. The temple is considered as one of the eighteen Shakti Peetha’s, place of worship consecrated ashes of the goddess Shakti or Sati. You will then continue to visit the major attraction of Mysore — the Mysore Palace. It was built by the Maharaja Rajarshi His Highness Krishnarajendra Wadiyar IV. It is perceived to be the second most visited tourist place in India, after the Taj Mahal. The architecture combines the Hindu, Islam, Rajputs and Gothic style. The chandeliers within the palace are alone worth visiting for. Every evening at 7PM the palace is lit with yellow bulbs and is a sight one must not miss.

Day 04 : Mysore - Ooty

After breakfast, you will travel to Ooty, a hill station. The economy of the place is dominated by tourism and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southern India. The place is covered with eucalyptus and pine trees and coffee and tea plantations. You’re free to explore the area on your own after hotel check-in.

Day 05 : Ooty

You will start the day by visiting Centenary Rose Park, situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram, the place has a unique atmosphere that allows generous growth of roses. You will find roses such as Miniature Roses, Ramblers, Hybrid Tea Roses, Yakimour, Polyanthas, Papagena, and Floribunda. Interestingly, it also grows black coloured roses.

 

Besides the Rose Park, you will also visit Doddabetta, which is the highest mountain in the Nillgiri Hills. At the top of the mountain there are two giant telescopes opened to the public. Besides its scenic view, the mountain itself is covered with dense reserve forest and possess rich flora.

Day 06 : Ooty - Nagarhole

On this day of the tour, you will travel to Nagarhole, which is popular for its National Park, the Nagarhole National Park. It is a massive wildlife sanctuary spread across 6000 sq. km. The park is considered as a heritage site by the UNESCO. In the park you can find Tigers, Indian Bison, Elephants, among others. Besides wildlife, the park is also a delight for nature lovers as it’s filled with thick forest cover, hills and valleys, small streams and waterfalls all over the place.

Day 07 : Nagarhole

On this day, you will be visiting the Nagarhole National Park, situated on the hill of Western Ghats.  It was established in 1955 and was declared as the Tiger reserve in 1999. You will go on an early morning safari for a chance to spot a Leopard, Tiger, Dhole, Elephants, Bear, Male Gaur, Sambar, Chital, Crocodiles, Otters, Ospreys, or other wildlife in the park. The Climate here makes perfect sense of its prosperity and increase in Flora and Fauna. The Nagarhole Wildlife Park is connected to a number of rivers, basins, lakes which keeps flora and fauna green and healthy. It is located on the other side of Bandipur National Park making it the perfect spot for tourists who love nature. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08 : Nagarhole - Hassan

After breakfast, you will travel to Hassan. The drive through for this journey is pretty interesting as you will pass through Kitana, Halekote, Mavinakere, among others. Hassan is a stark contrast to the Nagarhole National Park. You will be delighted to be in this beautiful temple town of Hassan.

Day 09 : Hassan

After breakfast, you will proceed for sightseeing at Hassan. Situated at 934 m of height, the town of Hassan was named after the Hasanamba Temple.  The Hasanamba Temple came into existence when the seven Maatrukes (Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vyshnavi, Varahi, Indrani and Chamundi) came to land at Hassan and were astonished to see its beauty that they decided to establish themselves here. The town in itself is filled with the presence of Lord Shiva, despite the fact that it was ruled by dynasty that belonged to the Jain faith. While the temple is believed to have been built in the 12th century, no one really knows the exact time period in which it was built.

 

The Chennakeshwara and Hoysaleswara Temple are of equal importance. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10 : Hassan - Bangalore

After breakfast, you will start your journey back to Bangalore. You will pass through small towns such as Madenur, Kaggere, Kunigal, Makali, among others. These towns best represent the daily life of the locals in Karanataka.

 

Packed with a lot of sightseeing spots, Bangalore is one of a kind. It is rich in art and literature with notable galleries such as the National gallery of Modern Art. You will have the opportunity to visit the Bangalore Palace, which was built in 1862. It is spread over a sprawling 4200 Sq.mts of land. You will also visit the Thottikallu falls, which is popular for its serene beauty. It’s the perfect way to end the trip.

Day 11 : Depart Bangalore

The tour comes to an end. A transfer will be provided to the Kempegowda International Airport.

The tour begins with your arrival in Bangalore, one of South India’s most lively city, and at the same time, is rich in cultural heritage, historic monuments, cultural centres, traditional art and craft.

 

From Bangalore, you will travel to Mysore, a city of Palaces. While in Mysore, you will visit a plethora of palaces, beginning with the Mysore Palace, which is cult in Indo-Saracenic style with domes, arches, colonnades, etc. It was once known as the Ambe Vilas Palace, which was designed by Henry Irwin, a British consultant architect of the state of Madras.

 

If you are an art lover, Mysore will give you hundreds of reasons to love the place. The city is filled with some really old architecture to enjoy. There are various interesting Heritage places like the Gomateshwara Bahubali Temple Sravanabegola, the Chamunda Hills, the Ranganthittu bird sanctuary are some of the other attractions around Mysore.

 

The tour then leads through the picturesque drive to the British era Queen of the hill stations – Udhagamandalam, more popularly known as Ooty. Located at 2240 mts over sea, it is one of the beautiful hills stations in South India. The Nilgiri railway is one of the oldest heritages of the British legacy in Ooty. It was the summer capital of the British Raj in Chennai.

 

Ooty, termed as the Switzerland of India, was the “romantic filming destination” for many films in Bollywood. In Ooty, you will visit the Centenary Rose Park, Doddabetta on Nilgiri hills and then to the top of the mountain to watch stars in the sky through the telescopes.

 

From Ooty, you will travel to Nagarhole, (or Snake River in local Kannada language), which derives its name from the winding River. The national park at Nagarhole is also called Rajiv Gandhi national park and is the home for the Asiatic elephants, tigers and Indian bison in these regions. Explore the environs of the national park following the Brahmagiri Mountains and the foot hills of the Western ghats, surrounding the Kabini reservoir.

 

Thereon, you will proceed to Hassan the home of the Hoysalas and the Hoysaleshwara temple. The main attraction in Belur is the Chennakesava temple complex which contains the Chennakesava Temple (dedicated to Chennakeshava, meaning handsome Vishnu) as the centre piece, surrounded by the Kappe Chennigraya temple built by Shantaladevi, queen of king Vishnuvardhana.

 

You will conclude the tour by returning back to Bangalore.
