The journey of this splendid tour starts from Chennai which is among the four metropolitan cities of India, and travel through Mahabalipuram,Pondicherry, Tanjore, Madurai, Periyar, Kumarakom and finally ending at Cochin.

 

The cultural heritage of South India is often reflected in the Temples, its architecture, rich traditions and the sublime coastline. The temples of Mahabalipuram, the greenery of Kumarakom, the wilderness of Periya, meditative calm of Pondicherry offers mesmerizing and unforgettable experiences on the tour.

Day 00 : Departure from UK

Departure from UK to begin your holiday experience

Day 01 : Arrive Chennai

Welcome to Chennai! You will meet our representative at the airport after clearing immigration. Later, a transfer will be provided to your hotel for check in. You still stay overnight at the Hotel.

Day 02 : Chennai City Tour

After you have enjoyed the South Indian delicacies in breakfast the city tours begins with Fort St George, then famous St Thomas Mount, National Art Gallery and at last spend your evening on the famous marina beach which is among the top beaches on Bay of Bengal.

Day 03 : Chennai – Mahabalipuram

The third day is when you actually begin with your coast to coast tour. We will head towards Mahabalipuram via Kanchipuram which is among the famous Hindu pilgrimages. The temple of Kanchipuram is worth seeing and as the name suggests the city definitely has the ultimate riches in terms of architectural brilliance.

 

Mahabalipuram is a world heritage because of the fourteen cave temples and the nine Ratha monuments along with the sculptured rock silts and stone temples. In the evening you can reinvigorate yourself at the Covelong Beach and take rest overnight in Mahabalipuram resort.

Day 04 : Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry

From Mahabalipuram the tour reaches Pondicherry a historic French colony on the eastern coast. Overnight in Pondicherry.

Day 05 : Pondicherry

The morning in Pondicherry begins with the visit to Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, Botanical Garden and the rocky beaches — these are the major attractions in Pondicherry.

 

A visit to Pondicherry is something that enchants everyone and you will want to spend more and more time here. The aura of this place is very soothing that one feels immense peace.

Day 06 : Tanjore

Tanjore is famous for the art and architecture. It was an ancient capital of the Chola Kingdom. The Tanjore style of painting and bronze idols is distinguished embankment of the art and culture of the city. Apart from that, the temple of Brihadisvara dedicated to Nandi, the bull, the ardent Vahana (transport) and greatest devotee of Lord Shiva, is a World Heritage Site and a place of tourist interest. The beauty of this temple is that it’s made from a single granite rock.

Day 07 : Tanjore to Madurai

On the way from Tanjore to Madurai you will travel via Trichy; on the way we will visit the temple of Srirangam and Rock Fort. Thereon, travel to Madurai, which is one of the most visited pilgrims of South India. The evening prayer of the Meenakshi temple is a point of attraction.

Day 08 : Madurai to Periyar

Periyar is one of the places that will fascinate nature lovers the most. The elephants in the Periyar sanctuary and the lush green environment is an outstanding experience. Overnight at the resort.

Day 09 : Periyar to Kumarakom

In the morning after breakfast you will be taken to Kumarakom which is on the banks of Lake Vembanad. The day is relaxing and you can appreciate the beauty of the lake. You may use the time in taking a sunset cruise on the lake.

Day 10 : Kumarakom

The Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls is a beautiful spot that is worth seeing. The tinkling beauty of the droplets is quite amazing when it falls from the height of 100 feet. The famous bird sanctuary at Kumarakom exhibits the migratory birds which is an excellent sight for nature photography.

Day 11 : Kumarakom to Houseboat

This can be said to be the soul of the whole coastal tour; the time spent in the houseboat on the backwaters – which signifies the uniqueness of Kerala with its serene beauty is matchless.

 

Flow with the houseboat and immerse yourself in the beauty of Lake in God’s own country, that is Kerala.

Day 12 : Houseboat to Cochin

Now the fantastic coastal tour is coming to an end. From the houseboat we will visit the Alleppey jetty and take our way towards Cochin. Cochin is a renowned city and is called as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’. We will enjoy the famous dance form Kathakali which is an excellent presentation of the masked statues infused musical dance art. Overnight at hotel

Day 13 : Cochin

After the morning breakfast, proceed for a Cochin tour visiting the Dutch Palace and Synagogue. On the way you will see the famous Chinese fishing nets which are unconventional to the traditional fishing techniques. The oldest trading centre is worth visiting. It offers a completely different experience that you will get from extreme old and modern sites of the city.

Day 14 : Depart Cochin

It is time to depart; we will provide you a transfer to the airport from the hotel.

We will begin this journey from Chennai; the city is often called as “Detroit of South Asia” due to the automobile Industry and is the fourth largest city in India. The historical importance of the city is established because of its coastal geographical location. It has signs of the first English settlement in India. Apart from that, the Portuguese also developed a port in the city. There are many tourist attractions in the city including the Forte St. George which was captured by the French in the 17th century.

 

The Kapeeleshwara Temple, St. Thomas Mount, the famous Marina Beach, where you can enjoy parasailing, are among the places to check out in Chennai. The world famous Kanchipuram temple is on the way from Chennai to Mahhbalipuram.

 

The next destination holds global recognition; Mahabalipuram which is a World Heritage Site as declared by the UNESCO. The amazing beauty of the Temples in Mahabalipuram is unmatched and can only be felt by adoring the glory of monuments. There are various complexes that are worth visiting including the Cave Temples, Pancha Ratha, Shore Temple, Krishna Cave, Varaha Cave, Draupadi Ratha, Bhima Ratha and more.

 

After enjoying the picturesque views of captivating temples of Mahabalipuram; next is Pondicherry. This place has earned its fame with the name of Sri Aurobindo Swami and has charismatic calm which will soothe your body, mind and soul. Apart from the greenery of botanical garden, the seafront on Promenade will give you a different sort of energy and merriment.

 

Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry Museum, Botanical Garden and Promenade are some of the major attractions here.

 

From Pondicherry, you will travel 150 Kilometers South of Tanjore and Kumbakom, which offers a historic glimpse of the Vijaynagar kingdom and the famous temples. Another world heritage site Bhadreshwara temple, Tanjavur Royal Palace and Vijaynagar fort attracts travellers.

 

From Tanjore the next destination is Madurai; the city has three famous spots Meenaxi temple, Murugan Temple and Gandhi Museum. The architectural art of the Meenaxi temple is outstanding and will take you back in time wondering about the architectural coherence of that era.

 

If you are an animal lover, Periyar is the place that will make your heart leap with joy. The visit to Periyar wildlife sanctuary will certainly give you immense pleasure. Here you shall visit the Periyar Lake, Tiger Reserve and the Botanical garden.

 

Thereon, you will visit Kumarakom the ultimate destination of the tour which is also “one of the jewels of nature”. The lush green environment and the scenic beauty resembles the name of the place as often called paradise of Kerala. The splendid Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls, Vagamon, Kumarakom beach and Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary are distinct attractions. The experience of staying on an house-boat on the Vembanad lake in the backwaters is an exuberant and enjoyable experience which is beyond imagination.

  • Check-in time & check-out time at all hotels is 1200 noon Except at Spice Village,  Trident, Radisson Blu Temple Brunton Boatyard,  where check in time is at 1400 hrs &  the check-out time at Houseboat  is 0900 hours, check-out time at Cardomom County, Spice Village & Brunton Boatyard  is at 1100 hours.
  • Above rates are not applicable from (20th December – 10th January) and will be advised separately from case to case basis.
  • Please be advised in South India the clients will visit the temples from outside as Non Hindus are not allowed to enter in Temple premises.
